The Owatonna Huskies Bullpen Club is the proud recipient of the following 2015-2016 Twins Community Fund Grants:
•Youth Coaching Grant - 2015
•Getting More Kids in the Game Grant - 2016
The Youth Coaching Grant program helps us augment our programs by providing a stipend to current and former Owatonna high school and college students to serve as coaches for our youth Baseball Academy. The program is intended to get high school and college students interested in coaching youth baseball while supplying them with a summer job. Youth coaches this year: Carter McCauley, Alec Holcumb, Alex Emanuelson, and Riley Thompson. This grant provides these student-athletes the opportunity to be part of something bigger – to mentor and develop youth within our Owatonna Baseball community.
The Getting More Kids in the Game Grant program will assist our Owatonna youth baseball organization in 2016 by removing barriers for youth who wish to play baseball. We will use this grant to reduce Little League fees to "get more kids in the game" and be part of Owatonna Baseball. Come out and join youth baseball – be part of something bigger – a youth baseball team!
A special “Thanks!” to the Twins Community Fund, Youth 1st, the City of Owatonna Parks & Recreation Department, and Owatonna Public Schools for providing community support to the Huskies Bullpen Club to give our youth the experience of Owatonna Baseball.
